Anyone have any experience with this bullet? How accurate is it? And how fast can you reasonably push it given that it has no gas check?
My standard alloy is: 2:1 roofing lead: lino +1% tin, heat-treated and water dropped.
I'm thinking of using accurate 5744 to drive it in the 7.62 x 39. I can't get 2400, but I can get N 110 and N 120. Any load data for any of these?

I've got the mold and I shoot it in a 7.62x39 Bolt Action Mauser rifle. I keep the velocity around 1600fps and I've been able to get very good groups with it. Knowing its a plain base, I've never loaded it higher than that.

I haven't loaded it into 7.62X39 yet, but I do use it in my M1 Carbine, sized to .309". I push it about 1700 fps and am getting 1.0" groups at 25 yards.
In my M1 it works good as long as you keep below 1600fps. Above that groups start to open up pretty wide. At 1900fps I get 12" groups at 100yds.

For those mentioning results, I assume this is with the bevel base...? All the catalog pictures I find of this are plain base, but the mold I recently got is beveled. Were there two versions of this produced?

Mine is an OLD (all capitals) dual cavity lyman with the other cavity being a 169gr 311413. It is a Plainbase not bevelled.

Mine is a flat base, with a sharp bottom edge.

Hmmm... Sounds like another of the instances of changing a design in midstream and not telling anybody... I've cast a few up and the consistency was very good - only about 4 or five outside a +/- 0.3gr spread, pretty normal distribution but with a slight tail on the light side. I kept all but those few. We'll see how they do at some point. I know I will have issues with the bevel base and the lubrisizer (not a star...) but if they shoot half decent I may send it out to get the base flattened. I just prefer a flat base as it's a lot easier for me to work with and I don't think flattening the base will harm how they shoot if done well.
I bought one in the late 70's that was beveled with a crimp grove and one in 2005 that was flat with two grease groves.

Has anyone actually got any load data to get this puppy to 1600 ft./s?

7-8gr of Red Dot or 15gr of AA1680 with that 130gr bullet should put you near to the 1600fps line. You can tweak it from there.

Interesting, I just picked up one of the single cav 311410 molds in original box about a month ago new. Haven't cast with it yet but this has me thinking about reloading for 7.62x39. Also got a 311419 (88gr) I am tempted to try for plinker loads.
I'm in the same boat as you guys with the CZ-527 in 7.62x39, from what I've read they are .311", my rifle is sitting at my dealers waiting to be picked up so I wont know what I have till I put my hands on it. I'm just not sure if its worth it to me to get a mold such as this to reload for that caliber.
