This is my girl, 7 years old with her new savage cub.

It'd be nice to see every child knowing how to use and repect guns. It used to be like that when I was her age. Good move on your part for teaching her.

When I was that age (early 1960's) I knew nothing about firearms. I did excel at shooting BB guns though, and loved to shoot. My parents took me to an amusement park, and I managed to save up enough change to sneak off to the shooting booth.

When they found me, I was shooting a .22 rifle into the air, while demonstrating to the attendant that "the gun didn't work, cause all of the bullets (actually empty cases) were flying out the side of the barrel". They said he was just ignoring me and letting me shoot into the air. Good thing I didn't aim it at him to make my point :-|
