Noob question re: casting

Getting geared up to start casting. Placed a group buy order with SwedeNelson for lead.

In my ignorant mind, I'm thinking you only need to flux stuff like WW lead, not special foundry orders like these. What's the truth?

Pure does not need fluxed but it still helps to keep the pot clean. I flux everything and just use wax or a stick because it brings crap to the surface, keeps the metal and pot clean and the alloys together.
As oxygen reacts with the surface a lot of slag forms and some will be good metal so flux it before skimming.
