Does beagling work very well on 4 cavity moulds?

What kind of metal tape is used? One link mentioned HVAC tape. Is this the silver tape used to wrap AC ducts with? (I don't mean gray duct tape)

On the 4 cavity mould... how much tape and how far apart?

Yes tape for Heating and A/C applications. Adhesive on 1 side only.

Most molds will allow 1 ply without a problem.
Sometimes ( for me at least ) a 2nd ply invites fining and flash.

It works on 1 cav., 2 cav., 3 cav., 4 cav. and on Lee 6 cav. molds just fine.

There is a tutorial on this subject somewhere ? ?

I like the 600dF rated flue tape better than the aluminium duct tape. Stays in place better and does not bleed glue. It costs a little more for a shorter roll, but I think you would hard pressed to use all of it if only for this purpose.

I used muffler repair tape. $2.50 at Auto Zone for about 10 feet. It's working great on a RCBS 2-cav 44-200 I've been casting with tonight. One strip took it from .429 to .4325. Tape placment was per instructions found elsewhere on this site.

I think there is an article over at castpics.net that explains the whole process. Dan

Scroll down and click the banner that says CastPics.
On the left side of the new window click "Articles by Members".
You'll see two columns of links. In the left column about 18 links down is one entitled "Bullet Diameter Enlargement."
That's the article you want to read.
