Guys,

Can someone please measure the Lee 401-175-TC bullet for me. Would appreciate the 1) distance from the base to the beginning edge of the conical section, 2) the length of the conical section, 3) the diameter of the meplat, and the ID of the mold itself.

Really would appreciate it.

If anyone has a 160-165 gr conical bullet mold for the same caliber, I'd appreciate the same measurements for that too!

(over the winter am going to try to make a mold by the cherry method ... thus the need for the measurements!)

Thanks guys!

hi mstarling,

here is my best guess using the cheap calipers:

1) 0.36 base to cone
2) 0.23 cone length
3) 0.27 meplat

I don't have the mould handy to measure the ID, but it typically throws ~0.402 w/ straight WW.

Jeff,

Thank You!

My interest in the inside diameter of the mold to so that I can make a cherry that will cut a mold cavity that will have about the correct weight ... as I have no good estimate of how much WW shrinks when cooling.

Thanks again!
