Ok Good [smilie=w:

I got some interest,

Starting today 09-27-2009

Ending 10-31-2009

Just send me your Target, or scan it, and E-mail me your target.

PM me for my snail mail address or my E-Mail Address.

I would like to shoot also, if I am allowed.

PS.

We are still using our Swamp Cooler here......:violin:

azcoyhunter;
If you are going to have a match, then you'll need to use the same target for everyone. The NRA 25 yard timed fire target should work well and it is available nearly everywhere.

I wish I could use this target but it was shot July 30, 2009 so would be outside the allowable window:

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj80/Dale53/img047.jpg

This was shot standing at 25 yards with my 625-6 with Red Dot. 200 gr H&G #503 Clone by MiHec ahead of 4.5 grs of 5066 sized .452" (WW's +2% tin).

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj80/Dale53/QDalesRevolversandPistols-1720.jpg

I shot a target almost as good yesterday but didn't save it and it would be outside the window, also. Oh well, just have to shoot a better one, I guess:veryconfu.

Come on guys/gals

Just another excuse to cast/shoot

My wife (SWMBO) is a baker and she will send a surprise to whoever wins.
If you look at me, you can see that she is a great baker :):)

Thanks for the kind words, ascoyhunter. Yeah, I don't mind giving it a try. I'll have to hit the range in a couple of days and see what turns up.

All the best,

How are you shooting this? Standing, one hand, two hands, rest, no rest?

Dale53
09-27-2009, 08:08 PM
Since a lot of us are interested in "Practical Shooting" how about standing, one or two hands (shooters choice), no support. Ten shots on the NRA 25 yard Timed Fire Target? Center fire, naturally. Caliber of choice.

The "X" ring is 1 5/8" in diameter and the "10" ring is 3 5/16" best as I can measure.

Thanks for the kind words.

I will enter a target for this one... Just put new grips on the 475 and got a bunch of 430gr'ers cast up.

Just to be clear here??? I am seeing "shooters choice" of position and then seeing One or Two handed....

Can we sit, kneel, prone, over the shoulder while fleeing:mrgreen::mrgreen:??

freedom475;
The shooters position is standing, unsupported with one or two hands, the shooters choice. No sitting, kneeling, prone, or over the shoulder. However, you MAY shoot the pistol horizontal, gangsta style...[smilie=l:

Is this a one target deal or more like a reentry where if someone beats your score you can try for a better score?

azcoyhunter
10-02-2009, 02:07 PM
I would prefer one target only.

Aneat;
That's a NICE target. It's interesting that we both are using essentially the same bullet and close to the same velocity. Mine is shot with a revolver instead of a 1911 (625-6 with 5" barrel).

Thanks Dale; I think you got an X or 2 on me, tough to tell when you start making ragged holes ;)

Yea that 4.1 bullseye/H&G 68 load really works well, I think it clocks in the high 700's low 800's over a chrono out of my gun. Does real well at 50 yards.

I was using up the last of a caddy of 5066 (it's been obsolete for at least 20 years but a dandy target powder) in my 625's. It's now gone:groner:. I then went to a pound of Hodgdon's Clays and just finished that one up (that's what I was shooting today, and it shot wonderfully well, also).

Now, I will move to a partial Caddy of 7625. That's what I shot in IPSC for several years. I'll load it to the same level as we are seeing in our targets above.

As I said above, Good Shooting!

To AZCOYHUNTER and other competitors:
My wife and I have been in the "Hinterlands" of Utah for the past ten days or so, visiting our daughter and her wonderful family and just got back last night.

We picked up our mail this morning and "Low and Behold" there was a package from Azcoyhunter containing the winning prize - a box of home baked chocolate chip cookies (incidentally, my all time favorites) from Azcoyhunters wife, a prize winning baker by all evidence. Unfortunately, it was NECESSARY to destroy most of the evidence in evaluating the level of quality of the prize cookies. The evidence is in - the cookies are "TOP GRADE"...

Thank you, kind sir, for running this contest and also for donating the prize. Give my best to the missus!
