A year after getting my cimarron hi wall 45-70 I finally got to make some smoke[smilie=w:. This is my first try at bp cartridge so tell me what you think. Lee 405 HB lubed with 50/50 beeswax veggie grease, 70 grains Goex FF CCI large pistol primers. Groups shot at 70 yards with 1 1/2 inch groups off hand. O'ya the powder is 17 yr old left over from my front stuffer days and the primers was bought in a box of old reloading equipment and date back to the late 60's. I think I like black cartridge.:cbpour::redneck:

Still waiting for Cimarron and 'wanna shoot it" to come up in the same sentence. We need a lot more of you all frequenting the shooting ranges. I'd consider you a very lucky man. :coffee:

Tom, 1.5" groups at 70 yards offhand is damn good shooting. Get it on paper at 100 or even 200 off the bench, see what it does. Does this rifle have the DST? Is the barrel a 1-18" twist?
Barrel length?? Inquireing minds want to know!

Bill

Bill, it has a 30 inch tube double set trigger and is suppost ta be a 1 in 20 twist haven't checked it myself yet. I have to pour more boolits the first run had a lot of culls. More testing is in order . With my luck the whole thing will fall apart at 100 plus. Just hope my wiggle and sways stay in time with the trigger squeeze. :castmine::redneck:

Tom, where in northern KY are you? If you are close to Cincy there is a silly wet match at Miami Rifle & Pistol on the 2nd Sunday of each month. You could get some good info there as well as hone your skills. The club is several miles east of I-275 off of US-50 on the east side of Cincy.

Boz, Thanks for the info shot IHMSA there many years ago. Right now just trying to get a load to maybe use this fall for deer season, not much money for real serious stuff right now with work being slow. Tom
