Just got a used saeco 4-cavity mould that I bought on Evil-bay. Its Brass! Didn't know they made brass mould blocks. Anyone know when they made them?

I've got 12 Saeco molds and never knew they came in brass. Should cast great.

I cleaned a bit and it shines right up. It sure isn't like all my other iron molds. Maybe I'm going color-blind?8-)

Hit it with a magnet. If it is steel you'll know in a heartbeat.

All the ones I've seen have a bronze tint to them like tarnished brass. Do like stubshaft said and check with a magnet...Ray

Ditto, I had one that looked like it was solid brass. A few years later it has a green cast to it. It's steel.

Yep! This ones made of that rare magnetic brass.

Must be color from heat. When you weld stainless you get that gold color. But this is very uniform.

Bearcove,

Are you sure? How do you know for sure that you did not test it with a brass magnet (heehee)?!!!
