Will a pistol grip stock fit on a post 64 94 that came from the factory with a straight grip stock? Thanks

About as well as could be expected, for any stock that didn't come on the rifle from the factory......."maybe"........, as IIRC, Winchester made some inletting changes with the rebounging hammer guns, I think it was.

If the inletting's good to go, then the PG's an EZ rasp 'n refinish job.

probably not as the lever is different and perhaps the lower tang is different too. I never had one appart but have had marlins appart and the straight grip stocks and levers will not fit the pistol grip stocks unless you do a lot of gunsmithing and either reshape the lower tang and finger lever or replace them.

the lever is angeled on the pistol grips to follow the contour of the grip, you might be able to use the stock, but the lever would just kinda hang there, unless you angeled it and the tang to fit.

If I had a post 64 model 94 straight grip I would check for you, but all I have is two model 64 with pistol grip stocks.

Here is a picture of the two different tangs:

It could be made to fit. If your straight grip 94 has a coil mainspring all the parts interchange on the tangs. The lower tang inletting is a little different. The pistol grip stock inletting would have to be lengthened.

Trailblazer,

thanks for the pictures. I was going to take one of mine apart tonight for pictures, but it would have only been one side to the story.
