I recently made a garage sale and bought a few bags of #8 shot for just a couple of dollars. Can this be melted for bullet casting?

I add a few ounces to wheel weights to harden them

I've been shooting #8 chilled in 38 sp and 45 acp. Seems to be working out ok.

Shot is really expensive right now, and a guy who reloads shotgun shells would likely give you a healthy profit which could then be spend on wheel weights or whatever. Just a thought.

YES, sell to a trap shooter - shot is increasing in price again and value is rising.

Or sell to me, I load up for SASS. Or can trade lead at 10.4 BHN

I've used shot plus a couple percent tin for HP's in 45 ACP in a 1911. Expansion was perfection when fired into water @ 900 fps but water is a poor substitute for flesh. Expanded like this penetration would be poor but could aid in not penetrating walls etc.
