Looking at a E arther Brown Single shot pistol, Falling block.

In Cal. 7mm US FL ?? Based on a 30-30 case . Dies come
withe the pistol. From my understanding the FL is for full
length Case that is necked down from a 30-30 case.
Would this basicly be a 7X30 waters? And could loading
data for the 7X30 waters be used in for this round..?

any info would be apprecated thanks Jeff

I would contact the company, they have a web site, and may have information regarding the loading of such. Be careful though, they gots lots of cool toys there!

FL=full length sizing die. You will need to bump the shoulder on these sooner or later.
7US is necked down, blown out straight and shortened 30-30. If I remember right, case capacity was that of the 7BR. 7BR is short and fat, the 7US is a little smaller in diameter and longer.
It is a real popular round in the IHMSA circles. A proven steel cartridge with less recoil than the 7-30.

No first hand knowledge, but friends into the SS pistols tell me EAB is iffy on quality and the company won't stand behind their products. This was 3-5 years ago, maybe they're better now.

If it is a full size 30-30 just necked down it is almost the same as the 7R. I have the Wichita in that caliber. I can't tell you if the shoulder is different with the EAB.
The 7R has the same length neck as the 30-30 but the shoulder is moved forward and the angle sharpened. The Waters has the shoulder moved farther forward and the neck is shorter but the angle is different then the 30-30.
If the EAB is just necked down from the 30-30 it has less capacity then both the 7R and Waters.
Loading information will be different.

As mentioned above it is not a
7-30 2.0400
7R 2.0390
or variation there of. It was not designed to clean up a 7TCU chamber as the 7R was by Mr gates, thus the super long neck to get a decent throat.

7 US 1.750

This is from the 50th Anniversary Sierra load manual.
Designed speciafacally for use in falling block single shot.. The 7US is base on the .219 DW. The rimmed case provides for positive headspace and sure extraction, while the case provides almost exactly the same case capacity as the 7mm BR. (BY NO MEANS USE 7BR DATA!!)

Call or email Sierra and ask to talk to Carroll Pilant. He fianlly wore his 7US out and had it rebarreled, 7US again. He shots a 10" in UAS and is tough to beat when he is on his game.

I only have experience with the 7TCU, 7R and 7BR but I imagine every 7mm will exhibit supreme accuracy, just something about them!

JSH is correct. The 7US is not the same length as the 30/30 OR the 7R. In fact I use is to make 219 Wasp cases from. It is a very efficient round and when I played around the Sill wett game I sold my 7R and used the 7US. It gave near 7BR performance out of my Tender.
