At the beginning of the 2003 VA gun season I had two Marlin 336SC's I wanted to take deer with using cast bullet and peep sight. Both were made from 1950-1952. One was in 32Speciel and the other was 35 REM.
In the 32 I was using a bullet cast from the RCBS 32-170 GC mold and in the 35 I was using a bullet cast in the RCBS 35-200 GC mold.
I took the 32 out first on a doe day . The load I was using in this rifle along with the RCBS bullet was 11.5 grains of SR4756 and CCI200 primer, my bullets were sized .323 from wheelweights.
Went out around 14:00 and climbed up my tree , long about 15:15 a doe came by at about 50 yards. I shot her behind the shoulder and she dropped . First deer I ever killed with a 32 Speciel.
Next doe day I took my 35 REM . This gun was loaded with the RCBS bullet cast from WW sized to .359" , 13 grains of SR4756 and CCI200 primer. Again I went out about 14:00 and climbed the same tree. On this occasion my wait was longer. But long about 16:45 a doe came by at about 65 yards . Put the bead right behind her shoulder pulled the trigger , she ran about thirty yards at that was that.
These were my first deer taken with "vintage" Marlin's.

Well if you read my five posts about whitetails in here thats the extent so far of my deer kill with cast bullets. Six shots six deer , and that I cannot complain about.:drinks:

There's satisfaction in using vintage rifles for hunting, especially when ther're loaded with a boolit that was cast yourself, that can't be compaired to factory ammo or to bullets made by factories. -JDL
