I have a Lyman 311316 mold and would like to know what GC should be used with a .312 barrel. Will a .30 hornady work or do I need to buy a bigger size?

Thanks
Brett

I have a #311316 mould myself and use any .30 caliber gas check in .30 Carbine and .30/06 interchangeably with no problems at all.

I am going to be shooting these out of a ruger SP101 in 327 Federal. So the .312 bore will not be a problem?
Thanks

No, it won't. The 311316 is the finest boolit ever designed for the 32-20, 32 S+W Long, the 32 Mag and 327. Actually for any 30 cal needing a 115-120 gr boolit. Mine drop about .313+ in ww alloy and the 30 cal GC works fine. If your 327 behaves like my guns you should be a very happy camper.

Bret is right. Great bullet. My .32-20 Martini is rather fond of a heat treated bullet over a full case of H4227. My mould drops at .3115 mostly but still shoots rather well. Also does well in .303 Brit. My SMLe shoots is well at 2300fps!

Well, at least we agree on something Jeff.
