I must be behind the times. I bought a Taurus Model 66 back in the mid '80. It's got a 6 shot cylinder. Tonight I was browsing there web sight and saw that the 66 now has a 7 shot cylinder. When did that happen???

'Bout 8 years ago, more or less. I have a 6-inch version, I custom-fitted the barrel to tighten it up, and it is a great shooter. I love my Tauruses, now let the bashing begin....!

There is one over at the gun shop that has 8 shot cylinders. I'd like to have it but I'm kinda torn between it and the smaller scaled down version of the judge they have out.
The only thing I have against the 8 shot is that it is ported and I'm not that fond of porting on a 4" bbl.

I will bash you! kidding of course, I have a S-S 450 45 Colt w/ 2" barrel I carry it for my CCW love it, have a 71/4" barrel Gaucho that is a great gun, so I am bashing Taurus and send all to me will dispose of all them for anyone and save you the trouble.

Now, that's my kind of bashing Freightman! Ha! Those Gaucho's do look interesting, I am tempted to try one of those.

p t, that 8-shooter is a model 608, it's somewhat beefier than the 66. It'd make a great gun though, I chose the 7-shooter over one of those because at the time the 7 shooter I was looking at was in better shape than the 8-shooter. Like you, another factor was barrel porting; I'm not really crazy about it in this class of revolver.

I love my 608 with 8 3/4 barrel. Just clean the porting after you get done shooting lead.:bigsmyl2:
