is needed here. I have a 1894 pre button, and my Son is all in a tizzy to "fix it up". He saw a article in a magazine about a levergun named Pugsli and wants to copy it with the '94. I'm trying to find out if a pistol grip stock and loop can be put on it. I don't want to mod the carbine in a permanent way. Thanks for yer help. reddog

You'll need a new stock, loop lever, and bottom metal. This assumes that they make a 94 in a pistol grip version.

If you want a pistol grip, and or scope mounts, buy a Marlin 336.
If you want an old timey, ligter, faster rattling repeater, get a Winnie 94.
Dont try and make a Winnie a Marlin.

The physically easy way would be to use the butt stock, lower tang and lever from a Win Model 64. However good luck in finding these. Win 1894 purists won't agree but I found the Model 64 a better fit for me.
I had one in .219 Zipper that I let a buddy talk me out of -- Bad decision !!!.

Whew!! I knew what I was sayin but it seems I need to clear it up a bit. This is a Marlin 1894 .357 mag with a straight grip stock. I wondered if a pistol grip stock could be fixed to it. Just say no is good advice, but he's a good boy and I try to go along with him when I can. Sorry for the confusion, I hope this here clears it up. Lead Fred, my daughter likes yer picture under yer name. reddog

As with any gunsmith ask to see an example of his work. It may be best to have him experiment on another gun first.

The 1894 FG's are pistol grip but not sure the parts will interchange. Ask over at Marlin Owners.com. I'm sure somebody on the 1894 forum could answer your question. Mark
