Ruger Security-Six.357 - .38 load. Lee 140gr SWC, cast from WW BRN 11. Lubed with 40% beeswax, 40% alox, 20% candle wax (has worked up to 1200fps in my 45-70). 5.0gr Unique. Estimated velocity approximately 1000fps.

Bore slugged at just under .357, bullets sized to .358.

Does this sound like something that will work?

Thanks in advance!

I predict they will go downrange, and leave very little, if any, alloy in the bore. Five grains of Unique is a fairly standard HB load for the .38, and all else seems in order. The only question I would have relates to the diameter of the cylinder mouths - if they are larger than .359, all bets are off.

The load itself should be fine. As Echo says, the dimensions depend on the gun. Fit is king. In a revolver you generally size to the chamber throats. The odd gun likes a slightly smaller boolit, but most generally seem to do better with a throat filling boolit.
