I tried searching, but couldn't find the answer...
Assuming months between casting sessions, what do you do with your moulds to prevent rust?

USGI ammo can and desiccant packs. No problems after many years.

I keep my molds in an upstairs room and have found that is sufficient to prevent any rusting. When I kept them in the garage, I would spray them with WD-40 after they cooled. Alunimum molds still reside in the garage.

Ok, cool. I wasn't sure if I needed to oil them or what. We don't have moisture problems, so I can probably get away with storing my only mould in a ziplog baggie with some desiccant.

Most any oil will work. I am using Marvel Mystery Oil, as I have a good supply of it. No rust
even on seldom used molds. Like Poygan does, my aluminum molds get rinsed off when cool and reside in the garage.
