I have a Freedom Arms M97 45 Colt and M83 475s. I noticed an anomaly with the M97. The 83s' cylinder pins are immobile when their anchor screws are tight. Although equally tight, the M97's cylinder pin has slight fore-and-aft movement -- as though female in barrel is slightly elliptical without being elliptical. No movement axially, just front-to-rear. Is this slight movement normal?

I just looked at my two Model 83's. Both have a little movement front to rear, but the .454 gets harder to move as the screw is tightened, The .44 Magnum moves pretty easy ,even when the screw is tight. The screw on my .454 obviously is bottoming out in the recess in the barrel, and making the cylinder pin more difficult to move, where the one on the .44 is not reaching the bottom of the hole when it is tight. Some forward and backward movement and even a little twist of the cylinder pin would be normal.
