The first time I tried hunting with a tang sighted lever with my own cast bullet was in 2002.
I had gotten a Marlin 336CB earlier that summer along with a couple molds . I had gotten the RCBS 250 gr GC and the Lyman 264 gr GC. When I started shooting my loads it was quickly evident that the Marlin liked the Lyman with15 grains of SR4759 .
I only had to take this rifle out one time before I had a shot at a nice spike , he was at a ranged 70 yards . At the shot he walked about 20 steps and fell over.
You can imagine my elation . This was the first deer I had ever got without a scope and it was also my first with a cast bullet. And the fact that I cast the bullet myself only added :drinks:
