I'm trying to decide what to work up for the new 25/06 I bought.

What's good for Whitetail under 200 yards and a good Coyote bullet?

This should work on Coyote's but not so sure for deer! (The red stuff is rag catch medium).

It's a 121gr straight sided, two diameter, blunt nose, paper patched job, fired at 303-25 velocity (probably around 2700 - 2800fps).

i shoot the hornady 120 h-point flat base over 50 grs rl-19 weighed out, fed 210 primer.
or the 86 gr sierra over the same charge. both will shoot 1-1/2"s at 300 yds through my ruger and the velocities are right at 3k for the 120 and a bunch more for the 86.

are you wanting one bullet for both, -- 100 grains will do it -- as will 85 gr for both but that is too little for me for deer-- I draw the line at 100-- and normally just use 115 BT or Partitions on every thing the yotes do not know the difference-

A close friend uses the 120 gr for Elk to jackrabbits.

I use Hornady or Sierra 100gr Spitzers in my 257 Roberts. Your 25-06 should shoot them just fine as well. It's the do-everything weight for this caliber in my opinion.

100gr Nosler ballistic tips for both critters.

My rifle has shot 2 deer with 117gr Hornady SST's one was 210 yard the other was 279 yards, thats a prettry good bullet and did what it was suppose to. If I had to shoot one bullet for everything it would be the 100gr NBT, except long range targets than it would be 100gr SMK's.

Most of our shots around here are relitively short ranged. Ive fooled quite a bit with the 2506 and all of the 25s. The sierra 100 and 117 and the nos ballistic tip 100 and 120 are a bit thin skinned for the velocitys a 2506 produce for anything under 200 yards. they tend to do alot of meat damage. I love them in the roberts and the 250-3000 but in the 2506 i tend to use a bit better bullet. My favoirte is the 120 grand slam speer or the nos partition if it will shoot well in your gun. the hornday interlock bullets tend to be a little thicker jacketed if you dont want to pop the bucks for a preimium bullet. For the most part i stick to 120 grain bullets for big game and use 100s or less for varmiting. The differnce in trajectory between a 120 and a 100 in the feild are pretty negliable.

I have a Rem 700 Mtn rifle in .25-06 that loves the Speer 120g Grand Slam and 55g of IMR 7828.
Velocity is 3016 and SD is 11. This combo has accounted for several Whitetails down thru the years for those times my son or I have chosen to use jacketed bullets.
This is a MAX load in the Speer manual and I worked up to it and stopped due to MOA accuracy. I'd suggest others do the same if considering this powder/bullet combo.

I've used 100 & 117 grn. Gamekings on Groundhogs & Yotes.
They definitely work.
Currently running 100 grn partitions & 57 Grn. RL22 for deer, 85 grn ballistic tips and IMR 4831(can't remember the charge) for Varmints.
Both run .5" out of my A-Bolt @ 100 yards.

Wife uses 120 partitions for deer and bigger and 100 gr Sierras for other stuff as it is cheaper.
When she shoots something with the Noslers, it darned well stays shot.
