Ha! r44 . I load my turk with 7.5 grs Unique,Lee 175 ,as cast,Lee liquid alox ,and seat just deap enough to keep the boolit from tipping. Anything above 8.5 grs goes wild and leads the bore.---With the gas check I use 25 grs IMR4198. Never loaded for my 06 without a gas check, but the 7.5 grs Unique may be a place to start. In general most barrels will shoot a Unchecked boolit fairly well ( But there are some that won't)if you keep the vel in the 22LR range ie:900-1200 fps which still can be acceptably accurate out to 100 yds . try some Bullseye in the 5.5-6.5 range same with W231 or red dot ,700X ect or as papa smurf stated Unique in the 7-9 gr. range.

..............ruger44, first of all welcome to the board! If you plan on smacking hogs with the 8mm, you need to gitchersef set up for GC's and move those slugs out at about 1800 fps.

I wonder what you are using for lube?

No problem in rolling them in some LLA and firing at 900-1100 fps without a check. 5 gr of bullseye or 9 gr of red dot would be good starts.
