I have noticed when casting large boolits from a 6 cavity mold, the boolit closest to the handle often bumps and gets nicked as it is ejected.

I thought about filing the handle a little bit so it would open wider. I would think it should still close well, but I thought I would ask if anyone has done this, before I do it.

I had the same problem with my six cavity .45 molds. What I wound up doing is turning the mold on its side so the handles were vertical. Raise the top handle all the way and then rotate the mold to horizontal and the boolits would fall out without dinging the rearmost boolit.

I really haven't noticed any bumps yet but I will pay closer attention the next time I cast and see.

Tap the hinge bolt just as you open the mold that seem to let the rear one fall as soon as you open the mold/handle. I got one of those "handy rosewood mallat" that a guy sells on feebay and it is the berries for a lee 6 rick
