I want to build a portable ladder stand that I can pack in on my back and put my eyes up about 6 or 8 feet. I am a big boy, so I need something fairly strong. I want something that I can get up a little ways when I am coyote hunting.

Cutting and welding skills are not a problem.

Anyone have any ideas or pictures?

You know, I'm rackin my brain tring to think of something. How about those ladders you see at the fair or infomercials on that holds a lot of weight yet folds all kinds of ways. I wonder if one of those buggers would work. They always show woman moving and building them being so light and easy to use.

I would think welding building something to get you up that high might get pretty heavy.

I wonder if that thing folds up easy enough to carry out in the field?

..............Building one you can hump around the countryside on your back is the sticky issue. I built one for varmint blasting and I suppose if you could bundle it all together you could carry it a few feet :-)

I built it just before our varmint trip in April of this year and didn't have time to get a ladder setup put together so had to use a stepladder. Total there are 12 individial pieces. You have 3 legs, baseplate, 1st extention, 2nd extention, seat base, seat, table base, table and 2 foot pegs. With both extentions used your butt is at 7'3'.

If you leave the 2nd extension off your head is at about 8' off the ground. The seat support swings in a 90* arc and the seat rotates 360. The bench support would rotate 360 (if you sitting there weren't in the way :-). If it had 4 legs you also could swivel 360. Anyway, it might give you an idea. Not having a degree in engineering I used the Soviet method :-)
