i'm asking for info and or advice on tha side by side baikal in 45/70 .also wondering about handloads do you know if it can take a pounding like myruger or marlin?

Google up double gun forums. Lots of discussion on these things. Maybe a gun for a tinkerer is my analysis--and I'm still kicking myself for not buying a Pedersoli double rifle back when I could have hocked only one kid to afford one. I, personally, wouldn't use anything stouter than factory/trapdoor loads in one--still plenty potent for hogs or deer.
