I've been shooting a lot these past couple weeks, trying to develop a load that I can be really happy with. I've fired lots of 10-shot groups trying to dial this in. This morning I fired two 10-shot groups at 100 yards. They are slightly different loads. The only differences being that one of them has a Fed 210 standard primer, and the other has the 210 match primer. The other difference is that the 210m load is seated .020 more into the lands.
Otherwise, I'm using a 180 grain LBT spitzer that weighs just shy of 200 grains after being lubed and gaschecked. BHN is 25. 49 grains H4350 with 1 grain of polyester batting filler. Velocity on the second group, the one with the standard primers, is right at 2,400 fps (approx. 10-12 feet from the muzzle). The other load was 2,354 fps. I don't know why the big difference.
Accuracy was the best of any of the 10-shot groups that I've fired with these loads to date: 1 11/16 for the first group with the match primers and between 1 3/8 and 1 7/16 for the second group with the standard primers. My previous 10-shot groups were printing around 2 inches on average, or maybe a little less. I don't believe that these two groups are representative of the true accuracy potential, as I think I got a little lucky with them. The second group had 9 shots that were between 13/16 and 7/8.
BTW, I ran these all the way up to 2,630 fps, and they still held 3-3.5 inches for 10 shots at 100 yards.
