cleaning moulds

Im new to casting and ive have been casting some very good looking bullets,No problems until now,I have several small pieces of lead that have stuck to a few lube grooves and its giving me problems,Any ideas on how to remove them without ruining the mould?How often and how do you clean your moulds/

Rub them with a piece of lead, scrape with a piece of wood, put a little bullet lube on the spot with a Q-Tip and continue casting.
