I have a Remington rolling block rifle that appears to have been shortened at some point from its original military rifle configuration. Not sure of the caliber yet, I need to get it to the shop to make a chamber cast and measure things. Anyhow, my question is, is there a book available that shows the original configuration that the factory made these rifles in? If there was a military carbine, what did it look like? What sights did it have on it? etc... I need to find some pictures to guide me in what this rifle will become eventually.
