I'm doing 2 LER mounts for the Type 99 and one for the Type 38. But these 3 rifles are all sporters. So the anchoring method is going to be one 8-40 hole drilled/tapped through the rear sight base into the barrel about .100". This will give 4 threads. Through the ladder ears will be two M4x.7 buttonhead screws. I wouldn't use this method of anchoring on a collectible rifle.

The same mount will be used on non-sporters but will require a sliding anchor similar to the 1891 Argentine... but a bit more difficult as the Arisaka has a dovetail where the Mauser has a squared slot for the ladder spring. The Arisaka will be a hand-fit proposition.
