The rear sight base of the 1909 Argentine is very close to the Brazilian 1908 but its not identical or interchangeable.

This particular 1909 is a very worn rifle. It cost $18 from Century Arms as a U-fix-em long ago. The rifling is pretty good but it has terribly excessive headspace so its mostly a shop rifle and cast bullet only shooter.

Like the little train climbing the steep grade... I wish I could I wish I could... It was trying to group those 200 gr. 311299 but it just didn't have what it took. Most likely the bore isn't compatible with .312" bullets.

But the LER scope mount is very strong and very stable. Its held by two M4x.7 buttonhead screws through the ladder holes and one 10-32 sockethead to the top hat anchor. I'm very pleased with this one. I have a much better 1909 with a beautiful bore that I think I'll slug and put this scope mount on that rifle and retire this old boy to the machineshop.

Nice mount. Looks real solid.

Looks like the boolits are tipping a bit, maybe more boolit diameter would help.
