I expect quite a few of us have a few pair of polycarbonate (plastic) safety glasses lying around that we dont use anymore because they are blurry with shallow scratches. Try this: spray a corner of a paper towel with lemon Pledge, Behold, or other lemon furniture polish. Polish for a few seconds and wipe off/buff with face or toilet tissue. Mine went from almost unusable to near new in less than 30 seconds. Hard to believe but TRY IT!!! I learned this from a guy who used to polish the soft plastic "roll-up" windows on his boat. Enjoy.....Bill
PS...Please post your results, I'm curious if it works as well for everyone

I'll have to try that. I have a bunch of safety glasses at home that are all scratched. Thanks for the tip.

Don't use any kind of paper product to clean/polish plastic, that's probably where you got the scratches in the first place.

actually, the scratches came from ocasionally ending up on the lenses while floating around on the casting bench. I never cleaned them before at all. Anyway, they're much better now.

I'll have to try that one. I must have a box full of marginal safety glasses.

I have used car wax and it helps too. It cleans and fills in some of the finer scratches.

Get one of the wool mitts that you wash a car with. and keep it for only that. We use them on a bike windsheild. The furnature stuff works so does rainx. You can get 95% out by just rubbing on the wool mitt

On real glass, eye glasses, I have used semi-chrome metal polish before to take out a lot of the scratches.
