CDA, ID CMP John C. Garand match 8-01-09

With twelve shooters participating in the John C. Garand match on August 1st at Coeur d' Alene Idaho I came in second place.

I was shooting my Remington 1903A3 Springfield shooting 150grain Flat Nose hard cast bullets produced from a group buy Lee 6 cavity mold

The charge was 20.0 grains of SR4759 in military cases.

My left-handed score was 452-8X out of a possible 500-50X.

The winning score was 454-9X shot by Joe using a M1 Garand.

The third place score of 452-5X was fired by Dave using an M1 Garand.

The low score was 344-1X fired by Mike using an M1 carbine.

Hey, a guy from my neck of the woods! Was this shot at the Fernan range or the one off of Atlas? I didn't realize they were shooting JCG matches. I'll have to bring out my M1903A3 and try my hand. Sounds like you had fun!

BTW, did you meet a guy there by the name of Scott Lyons? He's a friend of mine that shoots at the Atlas range quite a bit.
