Has anyone used Trail Boss for their 45/70 Marlin.

Where did you find the data.

This is a good question. Maybe it's been asked before? I dunno.

I do. My guide gun likes a 405 grain boolit with 12 grains of Trail Boss. A nice light load my 14 y.o. son loves to shoot. Use the Trapdoor data on Hogdons Cartridge Data center.

Trailboss data listed in the "Single Action" section at the ADI website:

I have shot a bunch of Trail Boss in the .45-70 , .444 and the .50-95 Win.

.45-70 - 14.0 gr under 325-350 cast bullets is very accurate and soft shooting load of around 1150 fps and will cut nice bugholes with 5 rounds at 50yd. and would knock a deer on his butt.

.444- 13 gr. under RD 300 gr bullets are just super accurate ans soft shooting.

.50-95 Win. 14.0 gr TB under the 350gr.bullet gives 1125 or so and will shoot 3 into 3/4" almost anytime at 50yd. Also very soft recoiling. Any kid could shoot the above loads all day long.

Hope you have a good supply of lead on hand!
