Hey guys,

What its the difference in these two diameter bullets? .001 right. I mean the heavy .452s seem to be for the 45 colt and 454 casual shooters but will .451 work as well?

Ch only makes a dies for the .451, will I be able to market to the.452 shooters as well or do I need to make a die for .452?

Thanks

BT

I think .452 is the cast dimension for 45acp. I thought the modern 45 colt and others were the same barrel dimensions and used .451 jacketed

I'm not sure either. I know cast bullets are larger but look in any sales magazine and you will find both sizes in a jacketed bullet for sale.

451 is the jacket size for 45acp. Most people shoot either in 45 acp without a problem. In fact the 45acp has such shallow lands and grooves that it is better to shoot 452. The 45 colt revolvers of old all had bores of 454 and larger. The guns of today almost always slug out at 452. With the lead bullet it's not a problem to shoot the 454 and at times they give better results in some guns.
