View Full Version : PSA, Faster than 3031?

Tried some PSA in my 22-250 w/50gr Speer and had flattened primers and stiff extraction at a starting load of 31 gr (Speer Manual #11 starting load for IMR 3031). This seems a little hotter than 3031 (I haven't actually used 3031 so am assuming the published load would be unlikely to show such pressure signs). Anyone have experience with PSA in bottle neck cases? Should I be using 3031 as an equivelent or a faster powder? I bought this about 5 years ago (24 lbs) and this was my first attempt to use it.

Thanks

Brian

Brian, see this thread. It was suggested to use 3031 data for PSA. If you've experienced a hotter load than expected, at the very least use the start load or a bit below and work up...Ray
