Another 311041?

I've been having good luck with my mould. I'm shooting unsized WW with LLA and 9.8gr Unique in two different 30-30's.

Shoots very good in 16"and 20" 94 Winchesters. They will penetrate almost 6" of dried rough cut oak boards, almost twice what a jacketed bullet will do. My question is do I dare use this bullet and or load on black bear? Shots are always less than 50 yards usually half that. Season starts in a month and I don't have time to start any new load development. If you guys think it's too light I'll drag out the Guide Gun. I sure like that little Winchester Trapper though and I can shoot it one handed out of the tree stand if I have to.

What velocity is it?

I'll have to run one over the chrono to be sure but my best guess by the book is low to mid 1400's.

For those of you that bought this group buy: I've found with mine that the middle four pour better than the outter two. I don't have any other moulds bigger than a duce so I don't know what to expect but I thought I'd just pass this info along.
I do own over 50 moulds though.

I would be hesitant to try it on black bear at only 1400 fps. I can get that out of a 357 magnum, and you would have iffy if any expansion at that velocity. Would you normally use only 30 cal non expanding low velocity bullets on 200 pounds of teeth?

at 1400fps on black bear? Not for me! I'm no daredevil.

I'd want at least 1800fps.
