I was looking to build/buy something that was portable in a reloading bench, due to space issues. I found a link for some plans to build your own and then modified them to suit me.

I have about $80 in this portable reloading bench, as the Black & Decker 425 Workmate was $50. It's very solid and can be folded to take to other locations or stored away. The wood is oak and it's 30"x24" and has a 12" tall shelf.

Hope this helps someone! :)

Bowhunter,

Good idea. I use a workmate with a clamp on top as a portable shooting bench.

Here's a picture of my press stand. This is very portable and stronger than most benches. If the shop is too cold I can move to the kitchen and set up next to the table so I have a place for my scales and etc.

How about a box.

I actually just sold that one, but I have a bigger one with a 3 hole turret press mounted on it. I can hide it in the closet take it out and clamp it to the kitchen table, when I am done I unclamp and put it back in the closet. They work for the range also, put the box in the truck clamp it to a shooting bench for testing loads.

Elk Hunter, I have one similar to yours except I used 2 thicknesses of partical board for a top and botttom. I like the fact that it swivels even though I didn't plan it that way. I have my lube sizer on one side and Turret press on the other. I have the big bench for heavier stuff.

Elk Hunter. As a retired plumber your version actually brought a tear to my eyes for your "Plumbers Nightmare" creation, nice job!Robert

Here's mine, 2 square deals (one small primer, one large), Lee Classic Turret, and a star sizer.

Here is a mount I built, under 10#'s and as stable as the 2" reciever you plug it into.

I have 5 presses bolted to a board.
I clamp the board to any bench at home or at the range.

This is my simple version (and I thought it was unique!). I built it 3 years ago when I got run out of the kitchen!

Those are good ideas. All of them.
