1886 wont lift high enough

original 1886 win wont lift the shells high enough but if you diddle the lever just a little 2-3 times they'll get the extra .070 their comming up low by. Lacking muscle, cause if you hold muzzle down, releaving gravity somewhat it helps. Thoughts

I have a new production Extra Lite, but not an expert. If it were mine, I'd start by
pulling it down, cleaning and inspecting for broken parts and springs.

Someone had been fooling, so I measured how much it was comming short by, then I layed in on my bench and punch marked bench around it so I knew where I was, then heated and bent the missing amount. Put er back in and we is flyin brass now boys

first clean it. They need to snap up and if theres a bur or a bit of dirt slowing it down it will sometimes do that.
