I recently picked up a used 100, dated 1989 by the paperwork that came with it. I want to know what is the difference between it and the newer models. Is it worthwhile to upgrade ?
It is my first 1000, and I am just setting it up, and jumping on the learning curve.

I have an early model 1000 that I purchased used. I haven't been able to determine any differences between it and the more recent models.

If you call LEE and talk to the right person, they will help you out.

I don't know of any upgrades.

I have a real old one and a few new ones, the old one is back home and apart from the auto disk powder thrower they are the same from memory. I have a feeling about the shaker grooves on the back post, but I haven't got the old one here.

I think the original 1000 did not have a case sensor linked to the primer system. It fed a primer onto the seating stud with each press stroke whether a case was present or not. Don't know if the sensor can be added to the old press or what year it was added as a feature.
