I bought a few sticks of this when I purchased the Lyman casting kit. It will be a few weeks before I get home to try it out. How does it compare to SPG? Should I use the heater for the lube/sizer when using this lubricant?

What...are you going to use it in?? Sixgun....blackpowder...rifle...etc.??

SPG is probably better; Black Magic even better IMO if using BP!!

S S,

I have used Lyman BP Gold a little (one stick) and have used about 10 pounds of SPG in various BP cartridge rifles, pistols and shotguns. You might have already guessed which one I like by the shear numbers. Yes, the SPG lube has worked quite well with the holy black and also for smokeless pistol. It requires no heater on the lubrisizer machine, either. One must be careful to wipe the base of the bullet being so lubricated, though, so that the grease does not come into contact with the powder and degrade it.

Hey there Kenny & SS,

Any comments on SPG versus White Lightening?. I know you guys shoot a bunch more than I do and possibly have tried White Lightening. I've been using SPG but have seriously considered White Lightening, the stuff Dan (HP420) came up with, but have yet to place an order.

I use White Lighting lube Texasmac.

Works the best in the 45-110 of everything I have ever tried.

I would like to hear comments from anyone on Bullshop's NASA lube.
Have you ever tried it, Kenny?

It is all I use MC Better than SPG for me. I have gone 10 shots in my 45-70 using 457125 with no problem and great accuracy. I can get 25 shots from my Ruger Blackhawk 45 using Swiss and a 260gr Keith before the chambers foul to the point loading is not possible.

Here is a 10 shot, no blow tube group that I shot as a test for Dan.

I got some of Bull Shops NASA lube to try in my 45-90 and have not used it yet for that but I have used it with AA5744 in my .308Win and have shot as many as 300 shots with out cleaning. This is my torture test to see what will happen to accuracy and leading issues and so far it is working with great success, no leading and the accuracy is excellent. Here is a picture of a target I shot in a bench rest match after I had shot over 200 shots through the gun before the match. It measured .305" for 5 shots.

Hey Charlie,

Not ignoring you, been kinda busy, but No have not ever used it, Know a few folks that have, and claims of National Champions at Raton using it are ( well lets just say Less then Honest).

I have tried very lube just about under the sun and one of the NASA lubes main ingredients is not real desirable in a bullet lube in my limited experience.

All lubes will fail you in a long string of firing in Temps over 90 degs and low humidity (such as Phoenix) I repeate ALL LUBES WILL FAIL. You can not keep the barrel cool enough to hydrate the fouling and hence you will foul out.

One method does work wetting the barrel thats in a wrap of some sort with cold water and you can keep blowing that is the only way I know of lube and blow tubing working.

The Main reason 99.99 precent of the shooters wipe in Long Range Creedmoor matches.

If the firing line is covered and air temp is not too high and enough humidity then most any good lube will work, and I assume NASA would also.

I am not trying to pick a fight just stating what I know for sure.

Kenny, I have read on the Shiloh forum that you use White Lighting Lube in your 45-110 is this as a grease wad only or do you also put some on the paper patched bullet also. I would be interested in how you load your ammo.

I see...
I thought you got some long ago.

Bullshop, If NASA lube has NO Bee's Wax in it or say less then 25%, then I would be delighted to try some for testing and be glad to pay Shipping.

CM,

I made the offer and never got any lube.

Doc Hiwall,

I only use WL for GG bullets in the 45-110 and my 45-70 and 38-55's, plus my daughters 40-65.

With PP no lube in competition loads I wipe between shots. For my 45-110 Business Rifle I use a .250 Thick Grease cookie of Black Magic with my PP hunting loads. And a .441 Diam Bullet.

Mr. Wasserburger,

Can you elaborate on your reasoning behind the "no beeswax or less than 25%" ?

Thank you,

Andre`

lkydvl,

Bees Wax is used as a carrier and for lube its a poor one in my opinion, White lighting has no bees Wax in it and never cooks on a hard fouling in the barrel such as bees Wax based lubes will.

Having tested a 45-110 in some of the hotest conditions in A Match format I can say with out any reservation that this is one if not the best lube I have ever used on a Grease Groove bullet.

Dan T did a lot of testing and background work before he started selling Whitelighting.

Doc Hiwall,

Run a search on my name and you will find plenty of info on how I load my ammo on the Shiloh Forum, I have never kept or found any deep dark secrets.
