I've been enjoying my Henry .38/.357 for a few months now. I know they are not for everyone, and that there are more traditional and safe choices, but for me there is nothing quite like them. At nearly 9 lbs loaded, it's like carrying a lead pipe around, but in a good sort of way. I'm 6'5 and weigh 240lbs, so and extra 9 lbs feels only like someone made a gun just for me! I got it used so it has just enough dinks and doinks that the common "too pretty to shoot" argument is out the window. Tube magazine is ungainly but with long arms it can be done while holding the rifle, I'd like to see a tube that could be loaded with the cartridges and then inserted, that way I could carry a quiver on my back loaded with pre charged tubes! I also like the made in America aspect, barrel steel from Ohio (go Buckeyes), walnut from Missouri and brass from Pennsylvania, all machined and put together in NY, as unpopular as USA pride is right now in many circles, I am still proud of my country. I know this is not my great grandfathers Henry, and is not the same action inside and more like a Marlin, I don't care, it's a big heavy well made and smooth rifle backed up by customer service that is second to none, it's a keeper in my book. Thanks for reading.

I don't think that you need to apologize for your weapon!

The Henry was a smooth, capable action, .....and a cast 200 grain, sub-sonic "thumper load" would probably be no louder than a .22lr!!!

I can see how a rifle like that would be a lot of fun!

Is there an ejection port on the left side also? - for the lefty's - or is the 2nd photo mirrored?

I don't think they make a lefty? Here it is flipped. Not so much an apology as an affirmation. :~)

Ok, thanks.

No need for an apology, thought I might have found the perfect rifle for my little brother - I hadn't seen one in person.

I am having a little trouble getting used to the idea of loading thru the tube, other than that I think I would have one by now. The brass sure is pretty.
