OK I have a pound of Swiss FF and my Goex... My loading now is with
5grn 777 under the Goex compressed .25" .030 vegwad, 405 Lee HB boolit.
Was gonna load some Goex without the 777 with and without wad.
then the swiss compressed and noncompressed with and without wad.
Any comments or other suggestions appreciated

Testing will be next sunday using a solid table my leadsled, blowtube and fresh patches. Test rifle is my Pedersoli Rolling Block 45/70

Yes sir....leave your 'lead sled' at home! If you're gonna test off a table....just use a pedestal rest with sandbag on the front and shoot it off the shoulder! The rifle will not recoil the same off the shoulder as it will in the lead sled and you'll probably get better results from your rifle shooting as I suggest! And you'll probably discover...if you stick with it long enough that BP by itself is all you'll need!:drinks::castmine:

That just could be a good point as the last time I used the sled with this rifle
I did have "issues" with groups I could not explain.
Will use this suggestion. thanks

Do you have a flat based boolit? There is a possibility that the wad will jam up in the base of the boolit or is that what you are looking for?

I do have the 380grn biglube DD boolit its flatbase.
My Lee HB seems good with the wad, we had a match
and as long as I did my part it hit steel target out 400yds
with wad.
I do compress powder with wad then seat boolit.

Cupped base bullets shoot fine as long as you're using the right load for the rifle! Recently I fired this from 1000 yds. using a PP bullet made by KAL up in Canada. Bullet weighs in at 710 grs. at alloy of 1-20. Bullet has a cupped base .080" depth with a .050" wide skirt. They shoot just fine!

Wrong!! Made a mistake! I shot this using a 710 gr. grease groove bullet! Sorry!

I have checked out your gallery FPMIII very cool ... I will be going to the 1000yd
range soon.
I am getting a range reloading setup together now as this will be the easiest I
think to try different loads and boolits. On order is the Lee Handloader.

Well heres the targets for a rookie I am very happy with the results
and also I would have to agree that the Swiss powder peformed better.
After these groups were shot I played with the site (still learning vernier speak)
and plinked at the 260yd steel. The swiss FF won again. I think I am really gettin
hooked in here what fun I'm havin :drinks: :Fire:
