Hardware cloth. If you have a lot of 22 rf bullets, use 1/4" mesh. Build a frame to attach the hdw cloth to. 12"x16" is the size of mine. If you have a lot of large trash, use 1/2" mesh to build another sifter screen.

You can acquire several different square sizes of squirrel cage wire at most Hardware stores.
Build a wood box about 21/2' - 3' square, then build a 2x4 frame to fit around the top like a lid.
use a few drywall screws to hold the wire in place. You can also put rocker legs and a handle on the box. Like gold miner's used. I had one but got a couple great Pb sources, so this went to the wayside. Sorry no pics.
This option allows you to sift out the soft .22 stuff (1/4" gap) /pebbles, whilst having the harder bullets stay on the screen!! Then use the smaller 1/8" to sift the dirt from the .22's.
WEAR A MASK, there's alot of DUST which is Lead contaminated!!
Hope this helps,

i took a cement mixer removed tub and replaced it with a 55 gal barrel cut down to size drilled a bunch of holes in it. Load it with the dirt and bullets at the range it removes the dirt there after your home if you want it cleaner shovel some in and run water over them. I used this method when i mined a range and it worked good for me but I mined alot of lead over 2 tons. Another not save the jackets you can sell them they call it red brass but better than tossing it.

Like the barrel thing, but we can't dig in our berms - pick up all you want by hand though, so I generally mine about 10 lbs. a trip, so I at least break even !

I love lead farming, its amazing how fast a collection can grow. We cannot mine our berms either but my club is so small I'd be willing to bet I'm the only one that walks past the 25 yard berm to pick up any lead.
