annealing-22 cases

OK here we go, I'm very new at this so have a ? Can you over anneal ? I put 22 casings in my melting pot over a camp stove, left on stove for about 7 minutes, Then used my cabine lead hardness tester to check, CCI cases used, cases not annealed measured an average 42, annealed 20. This was just a trial run, I'll try another with more time to see if I can get them softer--how soft can I go? I do not have a thermomiter to check the temp but will have one on the way shortly. Great idea I will have to try that! I think that the only way to over anneal the cases would be to melt them!
