I was on the phone with a guy down the road the other night
He is cleaning out all the junk in his fathers barn
He had heard I was looking for lead and wheel weights and he had 2 pallet boxs full for $50
Could not tell the guy I would take them fast enough
As I have been working crazy hours
I had my dad go down today with my trailer and $50
At lunch he called
Hard to understand him as he was laughing so hard
It turns out he had a 2-3 hundred lb of asorted types of lead in sheets , ingots and a bucket of WW
But the rest was cast iron tractor wheel weights and hang on weights
[smilie=1: Not the best to try and ingot out for Boolets [smilie=1:
So when I got home I took a look at my HAUL :( LOL
Unloaded what I can used
And figured I would haul the rest to the scrap yard and maybe break even
But dad sujested I call a local used farm machinery dealer to see if there is a market for old tractor wheel weights
As most were John Deere or had other brands cast into the iron
After talking to him , I hooked up the trailer and took it over for him to look at my haul
It turns out I probely have at least $1000 in weights if could find guys to buy each set
But he said he pays 50% of normal retail
Not wanting to mess with them I agreed
So he unloaded the pallet boxs and will go through them in the AM and make me a offer
He pays in cash , so I figure I will have a few $ to take to spend on moulds
So the moral of the story is
Even iron WW might be worth messing with :drinks:
