I have been having problems getting gas checks fully seated and seated flush using Freechex and a lee push through sizer. The checks fit the bullet shank very tightly and I was getting hand cramps and sore fingers from forcing them on.
I removed the sizing die from the press and mounted a short piece of scrap sheet metal, about 1/8 thick and 2" wide under the die hole, secured across the top of the press with a rubber band. I can now place the unseated check on the bullet,place them on the ram, press them against the sheet metal and fully seat the check with only the effort required to raise the ram and they are square every time.
