I been reading some posts that refer to muriatic acid as a check for zinc in lead. I have some ingots of unknown composition. If I dribble acid over the ingot, will it bubble or something? Do I need to scrape off the dark surface to test? This will be helpful if it works.

Muriatic acid is diluted hydrochloric acid. It may react with antimony as well. It's a great question as we are seeing more and more zinc WW.
