Hi everyone, I am a old shooter and a new caster. I have been lurking in the background for quite a while now and I am continually amazed at the wealth of knowledge which is shared so freely here. With this said I have a question. I have started casting the Lee soupecan 309-113-F for use in a 1903A3 06 dated 1943 with a 4 groove barrel.
Have tried RED DOT and UNIQUE without much success accuracy wise. I ran across an old can of 2400 and gave it a try, "wow". From the first load of 16 gr the old girl sang like a teenager. My problem is that I am not very computer savy and can't find any loading data for 2400 in the 30-06, other than what is contained in the Lyman Cast "Boolit" manual. If someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
When I learn a little more I will try to post a pic of the old girl and what she can do. Thanks.......larry

Welcome, I've learned alot here too! I've also been sold on 16 grains of 2400 as a great cast boolit powder/load. I won one of our military rifle matches with my 03A3 4 groove and the Lee soup can, my but my charge then was 18 grains as it allowed me to use the 400 yard sight setting. I don't know where you'll find any other CB data with 2400, but your 16 grain charge is a pretty safe load in just about any rifle.

Welcome- You've got a starting load. Where do you want to go? Faster? Try slowly increasing your 2400 charge until accuracy goes south or you get leading or pressure signs. Or you could stay where you are and just enjoy the success.
