For Bruce B and others with the big 416. This was from a customer yesterday. Thought some might be interested in his load. Boolit is the RCBS 350gn cast in WW BP method and quenched from the mold. Boolits tested bhn-22 the next day.

416 Rigby load, 350-grain flatnose gascheck bullet.

Please see the attached picture. I just returned from the range after
having tested loads using your .417" 350-grain flatnose gascheck bullet in a
CZ 416 Rigby. I tried 100 grains of AA8700, which produced 1950 FPS average
velocity, and shot reasonably well. I did experience a couple of hangfires
with this load.

However, upon upping the charge to 112 grains of AA8700, MV was 2100 FPS and
accuracy was outstanding! No hangfires, either.

I believe I have found an exceptional cast bullet load for this bruiser!!

Thanks for your great bullets!

Bullshop,
thanks for the info.AA8700 is not available to me,but anyway,it´s nice to hear your succes story with .416 Rigby.Maybe I should get myself quick load and start researching with it,if some .50 BMG powders can be used in .416 Rigby.Just checked some burn rate charts, and everyone gives different order of powders burn rate.I do have VV 24N41,VV 20N29 and H50BMG at my reloading bench,so I´m going to check these out.
