Looks very much like the "fish fryer" I just got from WalMart that does just fine. Cast iron burner, $40, melts lead just fine and I may even fry some fish in the pan/sieve that came with it !

It's $30 for the burner, no accessories. From searching around here, it seems like 58K BTU's ought to be enough, but it never hurts to double check. Before I actually get one, I'm going to take it out of the box and make sure the stand feels nice and sturdy.

I bought the same burner and thought is was a little lightweight for smelting lead so beefed it up a little. I used bar stock and strengthened the legs and then used channel to give a more solid platform for the pot. I used a metal cutting angle grinder to cut the channel and then bolted it to the frame.

Looks just like the rig I use and I smelt 50 to 60 pounds at a time.

It's nicer than what I use.

I went ahead and got one, figured I couldn't go wrong for $30. I'm hoping to get some smelting done soon :)

Scott,
Looks great should work well, I have to place two pieces of flat bar stock across my burner because as you can see in my pic my pot is actually a little small for the burner, it barely touches the ends of the 90 degree supports, I just lay the two pieces of flat bar across the burner to better support the pot, they are long and make handy warming shelves.
The bar stock is like $5 at Lowes.

The burner stands that are sold in Louisiana and meant for crawfish boiling are more than strong enough for lead smelting. Fill a 80 qt pot about half full of water. Add a 42 lb sack of mudbugs, potatoes, onions, and corn on the cob. Now weigh it. Your lead smelting will not come close
