I have a C. Sharps .32/40 and would like to use Triple -7 with 205 grain bullets. Can anyone help me with some load dats?
TIA

You could get in touch with Hodgdons for some advise. I found them very helpful.
What they will tell you is to use a case full of ffg (never fffg in cartridges), just enough full to touch the bottom of the boolit when seated or a tiny bit more. T7 does not like to be heavily compressed, but you could compress it 1/16" or so, not much more.
I have used up a pound or more in the .41 Swiss and I just seat the boolit firmly on the powder without any more compression.
FWIW, I use magnum pistol primers and get good consistent ignition and good accuracy.

Thanks Jack:
That's a good start. I couldn't find much on their web site.

Stew,
You have to call them and ask for technical help for the T7 powder.
They will actually let you talk to the guys that know something.
I spent a half hour talking to one of the engineers about loading T7 in the .41 Swiss.
Just plain talk about how to get good (and safe) results with the powder.

I have not looked on the website recently but understand that some of the early data for bottlenecked rifle cartridges was removed.

4198 and TrailBoss will cover any 32-40 application very well.

The "go to" powder for .32-40 is 4227.

Seconds on calaloos' post. Many of the Schuetzen competitors shoot the 32-40 and IMR4227 is the powder used by a great many of them. In other words, it's accurate. Is your rifle of the Sharps variety or one of the Winchesters?
